Protect sensitive document data
Immigration, identity, tax, licensing, and benefit records may contain data that deserves careful handling. Before choosing a compressor, determine whether the document is uploaded to a third-party server or processed locally.
UnderLimit performs the compression in this browser tab and does not send PDF bytes to its Worker or analytics. Ordinary page requests and connection metadata still reach infrastructure providers, so local processing is not the same as using an offline application.
Verify the actual submission file
Keep the original, compress a separately named copy toward the recorded limit, and inspect every page. Raster compression can flatten forms, links, selectable text, tags, and other PDF features even when the pages look similar.
Check names, document numbers, dates, signatures, seals, barcodes, and QR codes. Then use the government portal’s own validator and retain its receipt or confirmation. The portal, not this guide, decides whether the upload satisfies the current rule.
